Rebecca Butcher

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

A South Carolina native with a lifelong love for storytelling, Rebecca has spent more than 17 years writing online and capturing the heart of the South through words and imagery. A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in English, she has spent the last 15 years behind the lens as a professional photographer—documenting families, weddings, and Southern lifestyle with her signature warmth and artistry.

Her career in publishing began as both a writer and photographer for Carolina Keepsakes Magazine, where she fell in love with telling the stories of the Palmetto State’s most cherished people and places. Rebecca launched The Palmetto Pulse—a weekly lifestyle publication celebrating home, heritage, and hospitality across South Carolina. What began as a heartfelt newsletter soon blossomed into a thriving community and laid the foundation for Palmetto & Pine Magazine.

As founder and editor-in-chief, Rebecca continues to honor the legacy of Southern storytelling while reimagining it for today—blending history, heart, and modern-day grace in every issue. Through her work, she invites readers to slow down, savor beauty, and rediscover the spirit of the South.
