The Palmetto Plate: Ritz Cracker Toffee (Christmas Crack)
A quick, no-fuss treat that feels like magic every single time.
Ingredients
1 sleeve Ritz crackers
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Holiday sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 200°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Arrange Ritz crackers in a single layer, touching edge-to-edge.
In a small saucepan, melt 1 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar.
Bring to a boil and let it bubble for 3 full minutes, stirring occasionally.
Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers.
Bake for 5 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling across the top.
Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
Let sit 2–3 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
Top with sprinkles if you’d like.
Chill in the fridge for 20–30 minutes, then break into rustic pieces.
Storage
Keeps in an airtight container at room temperature for 5–7 days.
Freezes beautifully for up to 2 months.
